ScaleFree Support
ScaleFree reads cheap Bluetooth body-fat scales, the ones that came with the OKOK International or Fitdays app, and many white-label scales on the QN platform. No account, no ads.
ScaleFree doesn't find my scale
- Step on the scale to wake it up. Most scales turn Bluetooth on only while someone is on them.
- Close the OKOK, Fitdays or other scale app. It can take the connection first.
- Keep ScaleFree open on the screen while you weigh yourself. iOS doesn't let apps listen to Bluetooth scales in the background.
- Check that the scale shows a weight on its own display, and replace the batteries if it is dim.
- Still nothing? In ScaleFree go to Settings › Compatible scales › My scale isn't listed and send us the diagnostic. It lists the Bluetooth devices near you (no health data), so we can add your scale.
My body fat is different from the original app
Cheap scales measure only weight and an electrical impedance between your feet. Body fat, muscle and water are estimated from that with published equations; each app uses its own, so the numbers differ. Compare trends over weeks rather than single weigh-ins, at the same time of day. Some OKOK scales send no real impedance; then ScaleFree shows weight and BMI only rather than made-up numbers.
Pregnancy, pacemakers and children
Don't use body-composition mode if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker or other implanted device: choose "Weight only" in ScaleFree and set your scale to its weight-only mode, as the scale's manual says. Profiles of people under 18 show weight and BMI only.
Family
ScaleFree Pro lets up to 8 people share one scale. It tells you apart by weight and asks "Who's this?" only when two people weigh within 3 kg (6.6 lb) of each other. Only the iPhone owner's weigh-ins go to Apple Health.
